    National Palace of Mafra

    The most important monument of the Baroque in Portugal, built by order of King João V. This complex includes a Royal Palace, a Basilica with 6 historical organs (the only set in the World designed to be played simultaneous), 2 carillons with 98 bells (World´s largest historic carillons) and a Convent. Boasts a large library created to be one of the most beautiful in the World. The statuary, is the best collection of Baroque sculpture existing in Portugal.

    Cerco Garden

    Inspired by Versailles, this Baroque garden combines nature, agriculture and the sophistication of gardening in a very pleasant and appealing place. Visit the ancient but still working waterwheel and the “Horta dos Frades”, a garden where you can learn about plants used to make medicinal products back in King João V`s time.

    José Franco Village

    Visit José Franco's ceramics workshop in Sobreiro village, where you can appreciate the most traditional aspects of life in the local villages and watch the incredible animated miniatures.
